First post…how about that?

Oh man, first post on the blog. I looked at a few different blogs to see how posts are done, but the general consensus seems to be that you just hit the post button and fire away. I admire its purity.

As far as an intro goes, I kind of covered everything I wanted to say in the About me section of the blog so I would highly advise heading there first if you haven’t already. The short version is that I am the Doomed Gamer, I’m 23 and I’ve been playing video games for about 23 years. My objective is to cover video game development topics and ideas in an analytical manner and create positive commentary towards gaming’s seemingly bleak future.

I don’t actually expect anyone to be reading this now at the time of me posting this, but perhaps later down the line, when people hear about the blog they’ll poke through some of the older posts to see what I am about–which is totally fine. My plan for these first couple posts, is more of a trial run than anything as I plan to countdown my top five favorite video games of all time. In this way, I’ll be able to set the stage for my views and opinions in a way that will easily convey to the reader whether I am worth their time or not. After that, I plan to cover some ideas I’ve had on the back-burner for a long time such as the Link Effect for video game protagonists. In short, the idea of how to make a protagonist be your avatar and key element of immersion.
